Féria de Béziers : notre Souvignier Muscaris, élu “Cuvée spéciale Féria 2024”!

Every year, Béziers comes alive to celebrate its Féria, an iconic event that also highlights the region’s winegrowing heritage. Local winemakers can enter their wines in a friendly yet rigorous competition to determine which bottles will be named the event’s ‘official wine’. For this year’s event, Béziers wines were judged in three distinct categories: red, white and rosé. The selection process was meticulous, orchestrated by a panel of professionals who met to taste and judge the samples submitted. The tasting took place at L’Alter Native, a prestigious restaurant run by the renowned Gilles Goujon.

And this year, the white ‘Cuvée spéciale Féria 2024’ will be our Colombette Souvignier-Muscaris organic wine. A wine full of personality, fruity, fresh and balanced, characteristic of Souvignier Gris.

It is combined with Muscaris, a grape variety from Germany that is naturally resistant to vine diseases. Already awarded a silver medal at the International PIWI competition, this cuvée bears witness to a transition towards a viticulture that respects its environment, without treatments or pesticides. ?

The work on resistant grape varieties represents years of research, trials and selection to cross known parents with varieties that can be grown without artificial means. This approach not only makes it possible to produce wines of unsuspected richness, but also to contribute to a more sustainable future for our wine-growing region, between tradition and modernity.
